Mark
Angel Austria, a 2nd year Civil Engineering student garnering a
general weighted average (GWA) of 1.17 ranked first in the dean’s list for
second semester Academic Year (A.Y.) 2012-2013 at the awarding ceremony held last August 8.
“To
pass a subject is an achievement but to be on top is a blessing,” he stressed
in his speech during the awarding ceremony in the students’ plaza.
He
added that it’s not an ordinary thing to surpass difficult quizzes and
seatwork, numerous exams, and surprise recitations. He also encouraged his
fellow students to strive harder to, at least, make their parents proud.
Engr.
John Zamora, dean of College of Engineering and Architecture (CEA) attended the
ceremony to give the opening remarks.
He
congratulated this year’s topnotcher for being a student under CEA department.
He even shared in his message the formula that the CEA students are using.
“CEA
stands for ‘commitment equals achievement’,” he highlighted.
Meanwhile,
garnering a GWA of 1.19, Joshua Budol was the topnotcher of presidential
scholars.
