CMA holds students' success ladder

by Jana Abenojar

The College of Management and Accountancy students stepped up a notch with a success ladder ceremony at the University of Pangasinan-PHINMA gym last Friday, August 2. The event was organized by the CMASC with the adviser Mr. Gil Halog. Dean Christine Charity Resultay spearheaded the ceremony together with the department heads Mr. Walter Dabu of Hospitality and Tourism Management and Ma’am Pina Cochangco of Business Administration. The CMA students received tokens such as nameplates, toques, pins, scarves and neckties to signify how far they have come in their scholastic journey.
The gym was full of blue and gold balloons, CMA’s official colors. The stage was decorated with glitters and stunning flower arrangements to add to the festive vibe. A mass of 1064 students from Hospitality Management, Tourism Management, Accountancy and Business Administration were present at the Success Ladder ceremony. Sophomores in the academic program of BSHM and BSTourism received their corporate UoP-PEN nameplates for them to use in their forthcoming on-the-job training may it be local or international. It also signifies welcome to the CMA. BSHM students on their third year earned UoP-PEN toques as a congratulatory mark of finishing 2-year requisites in the course. The UoP-PEN pins were received by the juniors of BSA and BSBA major in Financial Management and Marketing Management—an emblem of their 2-year progress in their chosen course. The UoP-PEN pin is a sphere-shaped bronze with their course engraved on it. Seniors of the CMA redeemed UoP-PEN scarves and neckties to remind them that they still have a year to prep up for the professional world. Blue scarves and neckties are for the BSA Seniors to have course distinction and yellow for the rest of the CMA.

The ceremony started at 9am and the program took more than 3 hours. The students came onstage and received their corresponding tokens of success as a way of applauding them for a job well done.
