NFA denies rice shortage

by Lyndon Santos

July 10, the price of well milled rice started to rise from P30 to P32 per kilo. The National Food Authority (NFA) said there is no shortage in the supply of rice, despite the augmenting prices.

Rice retailers in Kamuning stressed a sack of well milled rice is now at P1,700 that is P50-P100 higher than past few weeks. Retailers credited the rice-price hike to higher farm gate prices and an observed tension in rice supply. They also claimed that suppliers are not able to satisfy their requirement.

A Prince with a Price

by Lorenzo Fabia

How much does it cost to have a prince charming?
Can a million peso buy a happy ending?
How much does it worth a knight in shining armor?
Does he ask payment for his valor?

When will a guy ever believe on a fairytale?
When will he realize that love isn't for sale?
When will a guy value the meaning of love?
Of a girl longing for a life with him she wants to have?

Does a man need something in return?
Can't he realize that love is more than that of what he can earn?
When will he ever settle for a popper on his side?
Over a princess who can afford his price

Stardust

by Bea Micah Pagaduan

Day burns down to night burns the
Edge of my soul,
In the night I see the sparks of twinkling dusts
I see them, I see them, Dou you see ‘em?
Night turns grey and
Everything goes cloudy, fog began to scatter as
Like the mundane turns shallow
Behind the mist is a green broad imagination.

Day burns down to night it humbles down my past
Brought by tears of sorrow
Night hung by the moment of reminisce
Dust of exfoliating dreams turns to light
At night, I go beyond the deep
The deep sleep that slip throughout
The doors of my sight

Day burns down to night, burns the
Edge of my soul
In the night I see the real conceal in the
Day’s bright lit
In the light I see the sparks that
End the dust of bones
Sleep walks and talks and feet mark time
To the drumless beat
